Why buy refurbished?
At ReFavored, on behalf of Fairfax & Favor, we believe the most sustainable option for our footwear, is to keep them on feet for as long as we possibly can. ReFavored provides Fairfax & Favor customers with the opportunity to support our on-going ambitions, of keeping materials in use for longer and diverting our footwear away from ending up in landfill.

Care information

Basic Care information

Leather and suede are both natural materials, so slight variations in the grain and surface can occur. When starting to wear any suede or leather products, excess dye can transfer, especially when exposed to heat, pressure, excess wear, or moisture. This will cease after a couple of wears, but care should be taken when wearing lighter coloured fabrics.

We advise to brush the suede initially to remove spare fibres, and wear in leather products around the house, and on a soft surface, for an hour or two before wearing continuously. When exposed to wet, they will saturate until dry - which can dry out pure leather products. We advise to leave to dry naturally, away from direct heat sources.

Always read the directions of the care product, and test on an inconspicuous area first. ReFavored, Fairfax & Favor or the Boot Repair Company cannot be held responsible for inproper use of care or cleaning products. For any concerns, please contact our Customer Service team.

How do I protect my suede and nubuck products?

Treat your boots with a Suede Spray once a month. We advise spraying a Suede and Nubuck protector lightly and sparingly from at least 30cm away and leave to prove for an hour.

Always read the directions of the care product, and test on an inconspicuous area first. ReFavored, Fairfax & Favor or the Boot Repair Company cannot be held responsible for inproper use of care or cleaning products. For any concerns, please contact our Customer Service team.

How do I protect my leather products?

Leather is a natural material and requires oil/moisture to remain soft and supple. To prevent the material from drying out, hardening, or cracking, we advise treating at least once a month a nurturing leather cream. Please use a sponge or brush to work the cream into both the toe creases, flex points and around the sole unit of the boot.

How do I protect my haircalf products?

Haircalf is a very delicate material. The shedding of the hair is a natural characteristic of the material. Please note, that the shedding can and will be accelerated through regular friction or rubbing against other materials. Whilst a Suede Spray can be used on haircalf products, we please advise you spot test the product initially as the protector can be absorbed into the individual hair fibres, causing it to appear darker.

How do I clean my suede and nubuck products?

Please do not put any of your suede or nubuck products in the washing machine!

We advise removing all dried dirt or marked fibres using a soft suede brush, brushing in the direction of the suede. If the area is still dirty, please use a cleaner. Please ensure you dilute the solution heavily with warm water prior to use. If your boots get wet, leave them to dry naturally and brush gently. Should a corrosive or highly pigmented liquid land on your boots, we advise to soak this up immediately and wipe with a lightly damp, neutral-coloured microfibre cloth. If the stain does not disappear, we please ask you send the boots to a professional cleaner.

How do I clean my charlotte jacket?

At this time, we do not recommend any products for regular care of the eco fill material. To clean, please wash by hand with a PH Neutral detergent. Do not rub, soak, or wring out. To dry, please lay flat and ensure it is completely dry before storing.

How should I store my items?

We advise storing all your beloved ReFavored products away from heat, damp, and direct sunlight. For mid-calf and tall boots, we recommend using Boot Trees to fill out the calf, to maintain the original shape and to prevent the ankle area from creasing. Where it is possible, please store your boots in dustbags and the blue box received.

Size & Fitting

Where do I find size and fitting advice?

Where possible and necessary, all our products have Size and Fitting guidance displayed. Please visit the link that states ‘Size Guide’ for more information.

What are the differences between the Narrow, Regular and Sporting Fits?

We offer a selection of our tall boots in three different calf width fittings. Whilst the foot area of the boots remains the same, each fit has a slightly different calf circumference to ensure the best possible fit.

  • The “Narrow fit” are 2-3cm smaller in the circumference of the calf.
  • The “Regular fit” is made to fit the average calf measurements of our customers.
  • The “Sporting fit” are 2-3cm larger in the circumference of the calf.

Please refer to the size guide on the product page for the best fit.

I can’t get my foot in – what should I do?

If the ankle or foot feels too tight when first trying on your new boots, our own secret trick is the ‘freezer bag trick’. Please pop your foot in a plastic bag or freezer bag, place your foot in the boot then push your weight through your heel. The bag will remove the friction allowing you to slip your foot into the boot with greater ease. After a couple of wears, the suede and/or leather will stretch ensuring you do not require the freezer bag any longer.

Please watch our YouTube video for more information found here.

Do the boots stretch?

As our boots are made from natural materials, they will give with time and wear. The leather or suede will soften, and the material will drop slightly, specifically around the ankle area. Both features are naturally occurring characteristics of both materials and there should be no concern when this does happen.

Do you offer a bespoke service?

Unfortunately, we do not provide a bespoke service for any products.

The Boots Feel too Long!

As all of our boots are made from natural occurring materials, the length will drop marginally through use, specifically around the ankle area. We estimate this between 0.5-1 cm.

Do you offer a wide foot range for your products?
Unfortunately, we do not offer a wide fit range in our footwear. We do however offer 3 different calf size, narrow, regular, and sporting fit.
Do you do offer a petite or tall range?

Unfortunately, we do not offer a petite or tall style range in any of our products.
